Condé Nast Traveler Magazine Honors Two Frontiers Experts
Added: Wed 6th Dec 17
Frontiers is proud to announce that two of their veteran 30+ year staff, Jill Jergel and Mollie Fitzgerald, have once again been recognized in Condé Nast Traveler’s annual prestigious list of Top Travel Specialists, or true “experience makers” –  as featured in their December 2017 issue. This is one of the highest industry accolades bestowed upon just 185 travel specialists this year from around the world. Both have been honored to be on the list for their cited specialties since the inception of the list.

In the words of Condé Nast Traveler Magazine Articles Editor, Paul Brady, “the right “experience maker” will intuit your desires before you even know what they are – then they’ll make them happen. These travel specialists can do exactly that, no matter what your interests are. The more unpredictable our natural and political landscapes become, the more we feel the urge to visit places untouched by the news cycle. We’re craving the kind of life and perspective-changing travel that’s made all the more magical when planned by the pros – no matter how fearless and self-sufficient we sometimes feel.”

Frontiers not only salutes, but delights in being a part of the magazine's mission statement: “As the most discerning, up-to-the-minute voice in all things travel, Condé Nast Traveler is the global citizen’s bible and muse, offering both inspiration and vital intel. We understand that time is the greatest luxury, which is why Condé Nast Traveler mines its network of experts and influencers so that you never waste a meal, a drink, or a hotel stay wherever you are in the world.”

Give Jill, Mollie, or any of our other outstanding destination experts a call and let us put our expertise to work for your next holiday!

Jill Jergel – Specialty: European Canal Barge Cruises and European River Cruises

P: 1-800-245-1950

While she knows barging inside and out, she will equally delight you with her in depth knowledge of France, Switzerland and Scotland - but her travel experience and enthusiasm spans the globe… her next adventure is Morocco!

Jill was born the youngest child and only daughter to a B-26 pilot and his war bride who thought nothing of taking her out of school for both domestic and international explorations. On the eve of her graduation from The American Fashion College in Lucerne, Switzerland, she bravely told her father she really didn't want to be a department store buyer, as was the original plan, and her father, well aware she had been designing trips for her classmates to use their Eurail passes, immediately replied "I've always thought you should be a travel agent." 40 years later (35 of those with Frontiers) and countless international trips, Jill enjoys nothing more than helping travelers find “just the right fit” for the holiday they’re envisioning. Jill earned the Destination Specialist designation for France from The Travel Institute in 2003, and is very honored to have been included on Condé Nast Traveler magazine's Top Travel Specialist list for the past 15 years with a specialty in European Canal Barge Cruises and River Cruises.

Mollie Fitzgerald – Specialty: Fly Fishing

P: 1-800-245-1950

As co-owner of Frontiers, she’s grown up in a “fishy” family so it’s no wonder she knows one end of a rod from the other, but she is equally knowledgeable on many fronts and a few years back, the magazine cited her as a “generalist” and thus is able to help you compare and contrast various destinations and travel ideas. Her latest adventures: tracking gorillas in Uganda and Everest Base Camp.

Mollie is a cum-laude graduate of Duke University and literally grew up with the travel business. Her destination knowledge spans the globe and fuels her ongoing passion for travel. She is most comfortable in the wilds of the great outdoors and has a love of fly fishing, but is equally at home in the world's most sophisticated capital cities and no stranger to ultra-luxe resort destinations, so specializes in these types of sojourns as well. Mollie has traveled extensively with her daughter, Abby, so she's very attuned to the needs of the well-documented trend of increasing numbers of families traveling with children. She enjoys photography, gourmet cuisine and fine wines, and draws upon her own interests and experience when incorporating elements of fine dining and wine tasting in itineraries. Author of the On Campus Cookbook (Workman Publishing, 1984), she's studied cooking in Italy, India, France, Morocco and Thailand. Mollie serves on the Advisory Boards of Abercrombie & Kent, Belmond and Lindblad. She is also a Trustee of the Atlantic Salmon Federation. She has been identified by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the "185 Top Travel Specialists" in their annual December issue. Additionally, Mollie is part of Travel + Leisure's Super Agent A-List and was recognized by Virtuoso as the "Most Admired Travel Advisor   USA / Canada", an award she was presented in 2010. She is co-owner of Frontiers, the family-owned company founded by her parents in 1969. Mollie oversees the Elegant Journeys Division of the company, Atlantic Salmon fishing and our Air Department.
